Mark Ashmore
RHAD, MIOA
Mark has 30 years’ experience working in the hearing arena. He sits on two Standards committees for hearing protection (PH/7) and hearing (EH/1) and co-authored the UKHCA guide to selecting hearing protection.
He first qualified as a Registered Hearing Aid Dispenser in 1994, subsequently working for a major hearing aid retailer followed by a leading manufacturer before setting up his own private practice as an independent. He completed a Post Grad Diploma in Acoustics and Noise Control in 2005. In 2012 he moved away from front line clinical care of those with hearing impairment to work on ideas designed to help people protect their hearing.
With the aim of improving access to hearing care Mark first designed and patented a software driven, tablet based audiometer in 2014 which was licensed to a major High street hearing aid retailer. It is fully accredited and registered with MHRA as a medical device.
In 2020 he completed work on developing the fit test product which has been scientifically validated by a leading Professor of Acoustics. He has now partnered with Gill Cussons to promote H4TLT as the only choice for adding value to employer hearing conservation programmes.
Gill Cussons
Gill has worked in noise assessment & hearing conservation for over 20 years. She began her acoustics career as the UK Sales Manager for a prominent UK noise measurement equipment manufacturer, then served as a Director for a noise consultancy. Driven by her passion for protecting workers’ hearing, Gill established her own company to provide noise assessments, implement noise management controls, and offer training on all aspects of noise at work.
Recognising a persistent challenge – employees not fitting hearing protection correctly and companies struggling to access hearing tests – she co-founded H4TLT to bridge this gap. Through her ongoing work, Gill remains committed to raising awareness, promoting best practices, and safeguarding the hearing health of employees across various industries
